This Privacy Policy explains how Compliance & Competency Management will handle any personal information you provide through this website.

What personal information do we collect through the capable system?

Personal information is basically information that identifies you as an individual. If you are just visiting our website to browse through the information here about our products and services, we will not collect any personal information about you. If you send us an email, we will record the personal information you send to us, such as your name, postal address, email address and the content of your email.

To use capable, our customers must provide identifying information about the employees/contractors that they wish to enrol as Participants. This will usually be the Participant's name and contact details, but may vary. Customers are then issued with user IDs and Passwords so that managers and Participants can access the relevant online training, training plans and assessments through this website.

If you are logging in to use capable, our system will record that you have logged in. Our system will also record the time you spend online and, it will record your progress and results in any content that you are taking.

What other information do we collect?

capable uses "non persistent cookies". A cookie is a small data file that many websites send back to your IP address when you visit them. Our cookies allocate a unique identifier for use during the session to each user once they log into our system. The information contained in the cookie is not personal information. Once you log out of our system the cookie used is cleared from your PC. The cookie is used purely for your session identification and is not retained after you leave our website.

Why do we collect personal information?

Collecting information about the use of capable and its courseware by individual (and identifiable) Participants enrolled by our customers is a fundamental part of our services. We collect and store it on our systems so that it is available to our customers (your organisation administrators) for legal compliance monitoring purposes.

The personal information we collect through email exchanges with you will be used to respond to any inquiries you have made. We may also use this information to identify what other products and services you may be interested in and then we may send you, or your organisation, material about those other products and services. If you are using this website as a Participant enrolled in training, you will not be sent this kind of material by us, but we may contact you to ask you your views on the training you have completed.

We will give you the option not to receive any further promotional communications from us each time we contact you.

How is your personal information stored?

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we have collected from you is held securely.

How can you access and correct the personal information we hold?

Participants enrolled in capable hosted training will be able to see their own training results but not anyone else's.

You have certain rights to know what personal information we hold about you and how it is being used, and certain rights to request that the personal information we hold about you be updated or corrected. You can request further information about these issues by emailing us at admin@ccm-solutions.com.

Will your personal information be disclosed outside capable?

Every capable customer will nominate one of their more senior staff members as an "Administrator". This person will have access to the data on all employees/contractors (Participants) enrolled in a program, and will be able to view results attributed to each Participant.

There is also capacity for access "Instructors", who would usually be supervisors or managers of a department. Instructors are able to see all the results of the Participants who are or have enrolled in the instructors' training.

Registered Training Organisations or Provider Organisations may also have access to Participant information if your company has agreed to this.

Administrators and Instructors, or any other person employed/contracted by our customers, are not bound by this Privacy Policy. It is up to our customers to decide how they will handle the information we collect for them through the use of capable. If you want to know more about how information about your use of capable may be used and disclosed by your employers, please contact them directly.

We will not disclose your personal information to other unrelated third parties without your prior consent unless disclosure falls within one of these exceptions:

  • we need to outsource some of our operations to third party service providers;
  • we reasonably believe it is necessary for law enforcement purposes or in the case of a health emergency;
  • we are required or authorised by law; or we reasonably believe it is necessary for another purpose authorised by law or to protect our legitimate interests.
